Search is not case-sensitive, so chapel finds Chapel, etc.
Search finds the stems of English words, so master finds masters and master's, music finds musical, etc. Unexpected results are sometimes obtained.
By default, search terms are combined with a logical AND, so boat club finds descriptions containing both boat AND club. Alternatively, Boolean operators may be used to combine terms with OR or NOT, and terms may be grouped with brackets (), e.g. music NOT chapel.
Search terms may be grouped as phrases, using double quotes, e.g. "gargoyles club".
Wildcards for single ? or multiple * characters may be useful if the exact spelling is unknown, e.g. bassing* finds Bassingbourn.
Similarly, appending a tilde to conduct a fuzzy search for similar words may be useful. Unexpected results are frequently obtained, e.g. muniment~ finds monuments.
