Spring of 1877 saw the lease of the Boat Club run out, resulting in the creation of a Committee to resolve the problem. During the Long Vacation of 1877, they purchased a piece of land from a Mr Winter for £450. By February 1878 the plans for a new boat house had been designed by Mr. W. M. Fawcett and a Building Fund set up. The estimated cost was £1400 which the members paid.. Members were able to move into the new building by the October of the same year.
The Development Office, under the direction of a Development Officer, was created by the College Council in 1992, to deal with alumni contacts and to co-ordinate a fundraising appeal. The office was staffed by a Development Officer with a Development Assistant; and from 2000 onwards, an Alumni Officer. The Development Office reports to an Appeal Committee appointed by the College Council. In 2001, a Development Director was appointed.
The Development Office also shares responsibility with the other editors for the production of existing alumni-related publications, The Caian and Biographical History.
In 1599 the trustees under the will of Mrs Joyce Frankland purchased the manor of Dabernoons, Duxford, Cambridgeshire in reversion on the death of Jane Middlemas. The manor was conveyed by the trustees to the College in 1611.

1981-2 - Sale of cottages and farmhouse at College Farm (XXXV, 71, 72)
1981 - Redistribution of lands into 2 farms only, College and Temple
1987 - Duxford development scheme
1987-8 - Purchase of 170 acres of land, Barker's Farm [deeds not held by the Archive]
1989 - portion of land sold to British Gas (note on easement attached to Duxford file)
1995 - Option granted to Grosvenor & ?Jesus.
The Manor of Buristead, Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire was purchased by the College in 1614 for the sum of £2000 from the executors of Christopher Rogers. It had been in the hands of the Bishop of Ely until 1600 when it was alientated to the Crown. Much of the estate and the lordship of the manor are still in College hands.
