The Cricket Club was founded in approximately 1840, making it one of the oldest clubs in the Amalgamated Clubs. Its objective was to form a cricket team to represent the College. The team who were members of the College paid a subscription of ten shillings a year, an Honorary member thirty shillings. A Secretary and a Committee of four members were elected annually to manage the Club.
The Caius Debating Society was founded in 1866 to debate a subject proposed by a member and chosen by the majority of members present. Members were under-graduates from the College who elected a President annually and a Vice-President and a Secretary terminally. Members paid an entrance subscription of one shilling and met every Thursday.
The Epicurean Dining Society was founded in 1984. The Society aimed to live in harmony with the ideas of Epicurus who believed mankind should maximise the pleasure it derived from living.
Founded on the 21st February 1905, the Jeremy Taylor Society consisted of members of the College who were communicants of the Church of England. It was managed by a President, Vice-President and a Secretary who organised Christian meetings and a united Communion each term.
The club was named after a Caian, Jeremy Taylor (1613-1667) Bishop of Down and Connor.
The Shadwell Society was named after Thomas Shadwell who was admitted to Caius in 1656; and went on to become the Poet Laureate. The Society was founded in approximately 1942. The original society was the personal creation of E.K. Bennett, Fellow of Caius. It stated its complete renunciation of Dryden, while it organised the presentation of papers on various literary topics, visited local productions of the works studied, and held social meetings and charades. It has since become a dramatic society.

The Historical Society was founded in 1908 for members of Gonville and Caius College who were interested in history. It was organised by an elected President and Secretary and held at least three times during the Michaelmas and Lent terms. At these meetings papers were presented on various historical topics.
