Letter from Richard Lyon to Professor Christopher Brooke, accompanying donation reads as follows: 'I Hope you will find the enclosed photocopies of the Free Frank Fonts that relate to Caius College helpful. I am not sure that any of them are so important as to change the historical record but nevertheless they are a fascinating collection. If you are able to identify Mr James Martin, who I think may have formed the collection in the 1820s and 1830s , then I would be most grateful'.
