The preamble notes Edmund Gonville's plan to found the colleger ('proposuit ordinare') but asserts thtat he was prevented by death from completing the foundatrtion. The bishop establishes the College ofhte Annunciation, set in the Hall of the Annunciation; it is dated at Hoxne. This is followed by confirmations (in the same hand) by Thomas bishop of Ely, dated at Hatfield, 1 January (1352) and by the chancellor and masters of the university, dated at Cambridge, 6 January 1352.
