Archival description
Students Bill Books

Account of quarterly College bills to each student. These originally contained the domestic charges made for food and accommodation, as well as recording the students' accounts with external tradesmen, such as tailors and hairdressers. The Bill Books developed into a summary account of money due to the steward, library, bursar and tutor's accounts as well as College subscriptions, such as to The Caian and the College Mission; offset against scholarships and exhibitions due to the student. In their most modern form, the Students Bill Books summarise by category the total bill from the College to the student for fees and accommodation etc; offset against payments from the student, and money dues from College grants for travel, books and scholarships.
