History
(1830-1905) Architect. Educated under Richard Lane in Manchester, further study in France, Italy and Germany. He started his own practice in Manchester in 1853 and; designed the Town Hall and the Assize Buildings. In 1866 he moved to London where he designed the Natural History Museum.
