(1830-1905) Architect. Educated under Richard Lane in Manchester, further study in France, Italy and Germany. He started his own practice in Manchester in 1853 and; designed the Town Hall and the Assize Buildings. In 1866 he moved to London where he designed the Natural History Museum.

In 1908-9 Edward Warren was commissioned to alter the approaches to Salvin's Hall, to convert the Old Hall into a reading room, and to deal with the installation of baths and radiators into the basement (For further information regarding Warren's architectural work at Caius, seeappendix 4 to Volume IV of the Biographical History of Caius)

Sir (Henry) William Rawson Wade was an undergraduate student at Caius from 1936-39. He became Rouse Ball Professor of English Law, at Cambridge in 1978 and was Master of Caius from 1976-88.
