With letter re presentation of the photo to Caius and extract from diary of Takeo Yamamura, Professor of Kyoto University about the photo which was taken just prior to Stratton's death: 'I could not a trace of fear or anxiety about death which was to carry him away in a few months in his face, smiling in the sunshine. It was our parting for life.'
